The Church Hall Dance Group was formed several years ago when the PCC and the Methodist Church was working together for a closer union. Joint Services were held at each other’s churches and it was felt that we should also do things socially as well as spiritually. One of the suggestions which was discussed was using our church hall for dancing and our Group was formed as a result.
The group consists of some members of St Nicholas Church, who do the organizing, supported by other people who like to dance. We have a dance teacher, Kevin Paul, who plays the music and gives instruction on dance routines as and when necessary. We focus on Sequence Dancing but some of the dances which have a greater degree of Ballroom content, could be used when visiting other dance venues.
When and where:
We meet every Thursday afternoon at St Nicholas Church Hall, Bow Street, Guisborough TS14 6BP . From 1pm to 3.30pm and we pause for a tea break at 2pm for Tea/Coffee and Biscuits and a chance to socialize. We are a very friendly group and new people are always welcome.
